A Sound Journey* is a therapeutic sound immersion experience that harnesses the transformational power of sound energy and vibrations—combined with breathwork, mindful meditation, and intention—for stress relief and radiant health and well-being.

How Sound Works

Sound frequencies facilitate profound relaxation and potentiate healing by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system—the part of the nervous system responsible for rest, repair, and digestion. As the body shifts out of a stress response and into a state of safety and ease, deep restoration becomes possible.

One of the key mechanisms behind this is brainwave entrainment, which occurs when the brain’s fluctuating electrical patterns begin to synchronize with a stable external rhythm. Instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes emit frequencies that gently guide the brain into slower, more meditative states—such as alpha and theta waves—supporting clarity, creativity, and inner stillness.

This process not only releases tension but also helps clear blocked or stagnant energy that may underlie mental, emotional, or physical challenges. Many participants report feeling lighter, calmer, and more grounded afterward.

Each Sound Journey is composed with care, using a curated soundscape of resonant instruments—each selected for their unique healing tones and frequencies.

These instruments are artistically blended to create a soothing, restorative, and therapeutic experience that promotes deep relaxation, stress relief, inner peace, and more.

Participants typically lie down (or sit comfortably) while the practitioner guides them through a meditative journey utilizing instruments, such as:

      • crystal singing bowls,
      • Himalayan bronze sound bowls
      • gongs,
      • shamanic drums,
      • ocean drum,
      • tongue drum
      • various chimes,
      • monochord,
      • standing sound bowl (step into, feeling its powerful resonance rise into your body through your feet)

The practices and principles introduced provide opportunities for self-discovery, reflection, and intention-setting.

Complementary practices may include:

The Sound Journeys I offer are grounded in rigorous study, dedicated practice, and ongoing professional training to ensure the most effective and meaningful experiences for participants.

My approach is trauma-informed and draws upon nearly two decades of training and professional experiences offering mindfulness-based education and community wellness programs in schools and communities.

These foundational practices guide every aspect of my Sound Journeys, creating a safe, intentional, therapeutic space where participants can experience genuine relaxation, healing, and transformation.

Teens 4 Teens is a peer-to-peer mental health platform online (that continues to grow)- for and by teens and young adults around the country – where those who are suffering may find encouragement, education and the self-motivation to choose recovery. They asked to interview me to add to their collection of video resources for teens on the site whose purpose is to empower teens who are suffering from emotional and mental health issues to choose their own recovery.
