For youth or mental health organizations, I offer therapeutic programs and professional development sessions that utilize engaging rhythmic musical activities to support social and emotional development, grounded in the latest neuroscience. This integrated model combines experiential rhythmic music with cognitive reflection and draws on well-documented therapeutic approaches. The results include improved emotional regulation, enhanced social connections, and reduced anxiety and other forms of psychological distress.

Your facilitator, Dee DiGioia
Dee DiGioia, founder of Mindful Kindful YOUniversity in Baywood-Los Osos, is a dedicated practitioner and guide in drum facilitation, sound journeying, and mindfulness and life skills for well-being through nature connectedness. Her expertise as a Drum Circle Facilitator has been honed through extensive training, including “Village Music Circles” with Arthur Hull, a world-famous pioneer in drum facilitation / “Rhythm 2 Recovery” with Summer Lall / “Drum Leadership Training” with Jim Donovan, and more. Continually advancing her skills in drumming and sound journeying, Dee recently transitioned from a full-time role in special education to fully concentrate on expanding her “YOUniversity” outreach and services promoting health and well-being across San Luis Obispo County.
Rhythm2Recovery delivers therapeutic programs and professional development, that utilize fun and engaging rhythmic musical activities to support social and emotional development. Based on the latest neuro-science. this approach has been shown to support increased emotional regulation, improved social connection and reduced levels of anxiety and other elements of psychological distress.
