Drum Circle Gratitude

Drum Circle Participants Share Gratitude

It’s incredibly rewarding to hear about the positive impact our Drum Circles have on participants. Their experiences often mirror the research findings described on the “Benefits” page.

Grateful Drum Circle participants have shared reviews on Google Mindful Kindful YOUniversity and via emails.  I’ve shared a few below.

“I have experienced Dee’s sound bath and drum circle. Dee is so warm, inviting and knowledgeable. I truly feel blessed to have found a place I can go to decompress, work through some tough things and find some joy again! Thank you for creating space for all of us souls who need it! AND, thank you for being YOU, Dee.” – Brandi Ahmundson

“I drummed my grief away…” – Anonymous

“Yesterday- in Los Osos, I had the pleasure of joining a new drum circle… called Joyful Rhythms. Dee, ever so carefully and magnificently, conducted the circle. It was a great experience! We were able to learn, play, and have fun. Community was embraced, joy was experienced, and new connections were made. If someone is looking to join a drum circle… it is my privileged to recommend this one. I encourage you to come and feel the vibrations of love.” ~ April Befumo

“If you’ve never been to a drum circle, you won’t feel lost and if you’ve done it 100 times you won’t be bored. Intimate and inviting atmosphere. Even my introverted father-in-law and daughters had fun!” ~Donna Sanchez (visiting from Ohio)

“My husband was really in his element and beaming last night. Thank you for that. You two were great at call and response and bouncing off one another. Cool to hear, feel and see!” – DA

“Dee has wonderful way of making everyone feel welcome and seen. If you have wondered about what it would be like to be part of a drumming circle you should join us. If you don’t have an instrument that’s okay she has plenty to choose from. We have fun, learn, and drum. You truly don’t need experience, Dee guides us through some moving sounds.” – Lori Renee

“Dee, thank you for last night. You really have a gift for bringing people together and sharing your joy! Please do another drum circle—want to get better at it!” – DM

“I was so excited to find this drum circle, as I had been looking for one for a long time. Dee and David were super welcoming and Dee facilitated in such a way that made it appropriate for all levels of drumming experience, and also in a way that “mistakes” were part of the fun. If you have ever been curious about participating in a drum circle, I would highly recommend this one as a safe place to try it out! I can’t wait for the next one!” – Tamara Livermore

“Thank you! That was fun and oh so needed!” – SS

“By way of background, my name is Juliana “Julie” Tacker; I have been a Certified Activity Director in the State of California since 1988. I have had the pleasure of working with all types of individuals in assisted living, skilled nursing, and independent facilities over my long career. Currently, I am the Life Enrichment Director at Creston Village Assisted Living and Memory Care, in Paso Robles, California. In doing so, I have had the pleasure of working with individuals who stand out among others, like Dee DiGioia. It has been a delight to work side-by-side with Dee. Dee will be bringing her drum circle to Creston Village on a bimonthly basis for the foreseeable future. Her passion and dedication are immediately apparent when you meet her. Her gift of rhythm to our residents is emotional, satisfying, and valuable to all. From tapping one’s toe, to getting up and dancing, Dee’s drum circle is fun as much as it is moving. If you are fortunate enough to meet Dee and observe her in the work she loves, you are as lucky a lucy person.” – Julie Tacker, Life Enrichment Director at Creston Village Assisted Living and Memory Care

Recently I had the privilege of bringing drumming for wellness to The Villages of SLO. As always, the gratitude that comes from the residence is so heartwarming and gratifying. In the beginning of the session, one particular guest declared she has “no rhythm.” Of course I told everyone that we all have rhythm, but sometimes we lose our connection to it or we grew up with the message from others or from ourselves that we don’t have it. When I was cleaning up at the end of the session, she came up to me and took my hand and expressed her appreciation. She said how much she enjoyed it and wanted to share that when she grew up she was forced to use her right hand even though she was left hand dominant. She looked me in the eye and said that when she was drumming today she became aware of a deep sense of FREEDOM she felt using her left hand. I said – “now do you believe that you have rhythm?” She thanked me over and over.  ~Dee
