“One Voice, One Heart” Song Circle
Flow in Harmony, Peace, and Well-being
Public and private events offered throughout San Luis Obispo County. Visitors to the beautiful central coast of CA are welcome!
Grateful participant: “Joining in the Song Circle with Dee was great because it feels like a spiritual jam session. Whether you have a background in music or not, you realize that everybody is born with a musical instrument: the voice. And that voice is meant to be shared. The circle is as casual or as ceremonial as each person needs it be. Because the music is simple yet deep, it allows for each person to bring whatever emotion or belief they want to bring to it. By the time it was over, I felt like I could just keep going forever. I also felt more open and calm for the rest of the day. Thank you, Dee! You are a gift to this world, and it was fun to join Songs in the Key of Dee.” – Jesse Ball
What to Expect:
-
-
- A welcoming, inclusive space for all: This is a safe space for people of all identities, cultures, and abilities to connect, heal, and grow together.
- Vocal exploration and creativity: Experiment with your voice in a supportive setting. Vocal toning, humming, singing. Follow your intuition.
- Rhythmic exploration and creativity: Drums and percussion instruments like rattles or shakers can be used to accompany the songs and the meditative rhythm-making in-between. (Optional)
- Simple, heartfelt, easy-to-learn songs: The songs are taught through the natural flow of repetition: one voice begins, and others join in when the melody feels familiar and inviting. Together, we sing as long as the song feels alive within us, allowing it to carry us in harmony.
- Silence: When the time feels right, we let the song naturally fade into a sacred silence, allowing its resonance to linger and weave into the stillness. These moments of shared silence invite space for reflection, contemplation, meditation, or prayer. We honor these silences as an integral part of the song, carrying its essence forward in quiet connection.
- Thematic songs: Explore songs of peace, love, compassion, unity, healing, gratitude, nature, and more. Songs to comfort, connect, contemplate, strengthen, or uplift.

I felt free to sing and go off script with the other singers and also drum without judgment even though I know I can’t hold a tune well and have never drummed before. Thank you so much for what you do. I really appreciate all you put into your events.” ~L

Grateful participant: “Greetings! First thank you so much for offering the song circle!!! For me this experience had me arrive with my fear, insecurity, and judgments . After a few songs I began to feel a part of the music and group and by the time we finished all what I came with was quaffed and I felt part of a community that was joyous and bigger than us all!! Again thank you!” ~ E
