Circles of Sonic Activism for Social Justice Movements

In addition to our regular Rhythm & Song Circles and Drum Circles, I am available to collaborate on Sonic Activism events throughout San Luis Obispo County—gatherings that rise up in solidarity for social change and justice, promoting democracy, diversity, inclusiveness, kindness, and compassion for one another and our planet.

These events may include:

• • • Collective singing and chanting

    • Storytelling and spoken word

    • Inspirational sharing and reflection

    • Rhythmic expression through drumming

Whether at a rally, community gathering, or contemplative action, these sound-based experiences are designed to uplift, unite, and inspire positive action for the common good.

Why Sonic Activism?

Throughout history, music and collective singing have served as powerful catalysts for transformation. They:

    • Amplify marginalized voices and truths

    • Build empathy, resilience, and resolve

    • Create a soulful pathway for nonviolent resistance and healing

From the Civil Rights Movement’s freedom songs, to the chants of El Teatro Campesino during the Farmworkers Movement, to today’s grassroots mobilizations—sound has always been a bridge between hearts and justice.
